The Canada-HK New Horizon Lions Club would like to announce today the 1st Annual Charity Bowling Tournament has successfully been hosted on November 30th 2024 at Richmond Hill Pro Bowl. There were 37 event teams including about 150 players participating in Corporate and individual team events to accommodate both rated competition and recreational players.
We have raised 10,000 for Carefirst Foundation and $5000 for Vision Youth Leadership Program. Our Event Co-chairs are Dr. Peter Lau, who is the president of Canada-HK New Horizon Lions Club, Ms. Jenny Lam and Mr. Albert Li.
The Co-Title Sponsors of the tournament are Floors @ Work and CitiBloc/CitiBuild. We are also sponsored by City of Richmond Hill and City of Markham (as our Tournament Sponsors). Kenneth Wan as Special Sponsor Smart-in as Trophy Sponsor. Mark Law of National Bank is our Gold Sponsor. Also as Gold Sponsors are Jenny Lam, LandPower Real Estate Ltd Brokerage, Remax Excel Realty Esther Wong, Toronto HongKongers Dragon Boat Club. and also sponsoring us are many businesses and other service organizations.
We are running 2 rounds of competition and the bowlers are competing for the Best Team Winner, Men’s Best Game Winner, Women’s Best Game Winner; Men’s High Game Winner and Women’s High Game Winner.
We support the mission of Carefirst Foundation on their Project of Campus of Care. This year we will be concluding our club’s commitment of raising a total of $50000 for this project. Carefirst Campus of Care will provide community members access to integrated care (medical and social care) with services delivered on and off campus. We are also supporting Vision Youth on their leadership development program which helps young adults in the growth of their intellectual and social awareness.
The Tournament was well supported by a lot of Lions dignitaries: District A-16 Governor Lion and Past International Director Lion Tom Gordon. Many fellow lions clubs, interest clubs and bowling clubs are also supporting this event.

An Award Presentation dinner was hosted in the evening at Purple Orchid Restaurant, Richmond Hill.
