The Canada-HK New Horizon Lions Club held its Members Meeting on June 8, 2026, bringing together members and guests for an evening of learning, fellowship, and community engagement. The highlight of the meeting was a presentation by guest speaker Dr. Jason Kwok on “中風的預防與治療” (Prevention and Treatment of Stroke). Drawing on his extensive medical experience, Dr. Kwok shared valuable insights on stroke prevention, early recognition, treatment options, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His informative and practical presentation was greatly appreciated by members.

Dr. Kwok’s distinguished career includes nearly 20 years as an orthopedic surgeon in Hong Kong before immigrating to Canada in 1995 and transitioning to family medicine. Beyond his medical practice, he is an active community leader, certified tai chi instructor, Scout leader, columnist, and dedicated volunteer. His commitment to health education and community service has positively impacted countless individuals in both the Chinese and broader Canadian communities.

The meeting provided members with an excellent opportunity to gain important health knowledge while strengthening friendships and connections within the Club. The evening reflected the New Horizon Lions Club’s ongoing commitment to promoting wellness, lifelong learning, and service to the community.
